Poem -

A crying soldier...

A crying soldier...

**notes**( know I've already published this but I have A video with it been read out by Simon Weston opening up a memorial garden at my place of work)

A crying soldier...

Muddy water runs between our boots
The tears run through my heart
Mam, say everything will be ok
I can see your open arms in my dreams
The fear to run home but I can't

My friend is brave with no pain
My hand shakes with the cold wind
My friend hurts but shows a different face
A frozen finger makes me not kill

A smile, look or touch, all of this makes me human
Every chance I get i will cry
The day is going to sleep but I still see lighted weapons
Every chance I get i will cry for you

Dear mam, I'm writing this to let you know your son is alive but not well
Read this and open your arms wide
I've seen friends die, I've felt too Much pain
So I'm coming home for your shoulder and smile

My friend was brave with no pain
My hands were shaking with the cold wind
My friend hurt but showed a different face
I knew that I could not kill
I'm a crying soldier and proud

Every chance I get i will cry
I'm human and my pain is real
I will cry for you... Xx
