A DAILY ROUTINE

I draw back the curtains it's five in the morning
I think to myself another day is ready and dawning
What I wonder will this day forward bring
The sky is overcast while I hear the birds sing

Downstairs I go and the kettle is on once more
Can't function without my coffee that's for sure
Out the house and I leave just after eight
No time for dawdling I must not be late

A ten hour shift I have in front of me today
As I look skywards and it's still overcast and grey
I don't mind routine as I go about my day
Must work hard for I have my bills to pay
