A DEAD LOVERS WALK -----

Sun shines in the lonley field
across the dusty track
and history seated on the broken bridge
where stones have fallen as seasons teeth
stream carries the many dreams schemes and screams
now i remember the harvest gone
love cuts such a deep track when its all alone
sweet scented beans drift into early mornings hope
time the shadow on a rope
kissed you again in the night
sat on the cemetery grass
short,cut, around the standing stone
blackthorn blossom, moonlit in bouquet
Sundays they are forever
each hour the mountain before the grave
caged in the rusting footstep
each one sinks on the moment slain
trees painted against the ocean blue
small pieces breaking through
insects in halo
brief dust devils
im eased between the sleep you sent
and the murder i was given
hot kiss on cornfield pledges
cracking timber
bone in loves flesh
tracing this image with scented musk
pale that china skin
so sat on the cementery grass
you below
out of human reach
i trickle salted love
into the bleached grass
silence the mocking laughter
paths that cross
will meet again

Hello, Terry.
❝...and history seated on the broken bridge
where stones have fallen as seasons teeth
stream carries the many dreams schemes and screams.❞ ➳I enjoyed your use of metaphor here in comparing fallen stones to Mother Nature's missing teeth. An interesting perspective.
In fact, I rather enjoyed this freestyle contemporary poem in its entirety.
Rife with vivid imagery and expression.
Well penned...

thanks for read -i was actually seated on the bridge in a beautiful sunny day miles away from humans
Yeah?
I get that.
I'd rather spend time with my grumpy old 17 year-old Chihuahua, Gidget, than with most people I know.
I am usually around a whole lotta people, however.
But they're all dead, at least for the most part.
I go to an ancient cemetery with graves dating back to the 1500's to write quite often.
Dean I like to go to cemetery to but never been to one that gose back to the 1500s where is that
Winchester, Ohio, in Adams County.
It's about five miles from Sardinia where I live now.

that's cool I will have to look that one up when I was in London I went to one but it went far back as late 1700s I went to others in my life time burial hill in Plymouth mass is one you should look up that is very historical
throughmy job ive worked in hundreds of graveyards --- steeplejack-i remember one grave -dedicated too a postman -in age of highway robbers -detailing how his throat was slit from ear-ear--we even once had to open some very ancient lead coffins for some boffins deep in a crypt-- then they got me fell 50ft from steeple -lol
Terry that interesting, you know when go in a graveyards and walk along read some graves dateing back to 1600s -1800s and how young some people died even children you wonder how hard there life was
