A Depression War

Like a scared cat
In a war
Not with guns 
Or knives
But a mind war
Me against myself
But who wins
We either both live
Or both die
But who decides
If I can't decide
Then who does
There has to be a winner
But who
If I kill the enemy we both die
If I don't kill it I will be trapped as its prisoner
There must be a way
But how
I will trick the enemy
Make it think everything's alright
Make it believe it
Then the enemy will be defeated 
But not dead
But how to make it believe me
Lie

Tell it lifes splendid
Make yourself believe it
Here it goes
Time to tell the enemy
Uh oh
It doesn't believe me

If has a knife to its throat
No please don't kill both of us
U don't have to do this
It repeats
Why stay here
The people the fun the love
Life has its ups and downs
But we are fine
Lies it says as it starts to cut its throat
