~ A Drowning Poet's Passion ~

It is far into a poet's passion
Through years, tears, torments, and lacerations
Ripping through to hidden wounds and conflagrations
Where laying in the depths of puddled introspection
Swim languages and books of unwritten reflections
With piles and piles of 'pink slips' and rejections
With character developing new and daring directions
Where the ego goes to play with whispers deafening silence
And shyness tortured into arrogant attempts at greatness
For it is indeed within the nuances of a poet's passion
Where creativity is pushed to the brink of insanity's attraction
As songs come floating in on rainbows of light's refraction
Words become a means of prompting self expression's voicing
Rejoicing ever-so-subtly in observations overflowing
Forcing the poet's pen to take truly inspired action
To take that which confronts him
And deliver it most mightily with the power of his passion
Combining it with the foragings
From the foundations of writers from long ago
And bringing it to light with the beauty
In todays and yesterdays,
Passionately
Poetic
Undertow...

Yay!! VERY cool Sir BARKER!!...You always surprise me with your comments.....I didn't expect a comment on this poem but I'm so happy to receive it because this poem is special to me....it's always interesting to me that the poems I like the VERY most and I'm the MOST proud of....are the poems that receive the least amount of attention or feedback....Murphy's Law I guess!! (smiles)...anyway, I'm so glad that you PINNED this.....and I would love to hear your impressions after you've (as you stated) had time to 'Digest' it!!β¦...Thank you so much dear poet brother.....LOVE & ROCKETS!!...I'm on my way to your page now to see what you've been up to!!β¦β¦.Peace......T xoΒ : )

You have done wonders with 26 letters...lol...put like that it's a wonder we manage to write anything much....that comment to Cherie has given me as much pause for thought as your wonderful work. I think inspiration comes from everywhere from everything...from our eyes and ears and our ever watchful third eye....hugs ?
Hey MARION!!β¦.No, don't let it.....this is part of an ongoing conversation that began with a friend of mine about the fact that so many aspiring young writers are afraid to run with ideas that are not necessarily their own....they think they're plagiarizing or something....when that is absolutely NOT the case.....almost ALL of the great writers will tell you that a big part of writing is STEALING...literally.....you don't copy other writers word for word....but you definitely take from their ideas, opinions, estimations, impressions, and imaginations.....it is a given.....because ~ and this is one of my favorite quotes:Β "To read, is to write, to have written!"....there is NO getting around that thought/idea.....think about that for a second ~ "To read, is to write, to have written...".....and you certainly don't aspire to be a writer without having read books and etcetera!!β¦..anyway, that's pretty much what that conversation was about!!β¦..pardon my rambling on ~ AGAIN!!.,...smiles.....T xoΒ : )
Yes I completely agree with you Tony...whatever we write about becomes our own because we are all individual so we bring our own selves to a work regardless of styles or topics....just because 300 people have written about apples in narrative I'm still going to write about apples but mine might be.....blue and growing on alien trees in an upside down woods ...oh...I feel a poem coming on... ????
My Dear Brother Tony,
I will start with a bit of humor
Forgive my sarcasm if you please
But your your lines "four through seven"
Brought an "erection" 'tween my knees
.
Now, I give you my true feelings
On this masterpiece you wrote
You are a poetic afficanado
Forever on you I dote
All my love,
Larry xxx
