Poem -

A FEW COPPERS

Can you spare me a little
happiness, he said
A few coppers, maybe, for
some tea
And some bread

He sat on a blanket that seen
better days
On the floor by the door of a
store...
In the way

I watched as the world
traipsed by
Heads down and heavy with
weight
All of them just wanting
The same damnΒ thing
