A Few Good Men

Dedicated to sixteen brave Servicemen
.
We lost “A Few Good Men” today, sixteen to be exact;
When their transport plane went down and burned, on a Mississippi tract!
Seven were part of an elite group, all stationed at Camp LeJeune;
They were trained to fight the terrorists, and bring peace to the world soon!
.
It’s a horror to even think about, for some chose to bail out;
But with no parachutes to save them, they had no chance no doubt!
The other factor in this tragedy, that made matters even more dire;
Was they were carrying powerful explosives, that stoked the transport’s fire!
.
The rescue teams arrived quickly, but were forced back by the heated blaze;
Ignited by the ammunition, the fire ever razed!
A witness to this catastrophe, said he heard a mega boom;
He looked up and saw the aircraft, in a downward deadly zoom!
.
I have said this for a long time, these old planes are just not safe;
Too many heroes have lost their dear lives, and gone to early graves!
We have to somehow provide them safety, modern transportation above all;
So these great men who serve their country, will never take a fatal fall!
