A Fish Called Wonder

Me and my Soul

A Fish Called Wonder

Ā
I have grown very fond of my goldfish
swimming happily in her bowl
swirling around listening to my woes
sometimes she looks at me
as if she's smiling
other days quite possibly
she wears a frown
I tell her everything
I feed her
multicoloured flakes
I wonder if she sees the colours?
I change her water
I feed her again
and change her water
a ritual almost every other day
I even leave my curtains slightly open
when I'm not home
just so she can see the sun's rays if it's a beautiful day
and on nights when there's a storm
I place her on my vanity table in my bedroom
close to my bed, so she doesn't get scared
I know you're thinking, sheā€™s just a goldfish
but to me sheā€™s a friend
one that I trust with all my secrets
often, I wonder if she gets bored?
I watch her, I talk to her and I feel peaceful
when I'm around her
I shall be very sad one day, when she dies
I wonder if I will grieve?
Iā€™ve had much practice in the years
will I feel lost without her?
what if I die first?
I wonder if she will miss me?
will someone rescue her?
take her and cherish her
just as I have?
I often wonder about these things
because
I really love to wonder.

I wonder if he can see the colours?

Isn't it good to see the colours? I like to think of it in psychology terms, I call it Theory of mind, a signature of one who gives a... To see from another's point of view. This might drive you too insanity but to see the colours, that is what's worth whileĀ
