A Hand to Hold Each Tomorrow

A Hand to Hold Each Tomorrow

An ashen-browed man
and his glowing wife
returned to the scene
of their joyous crime.

For among these hills
and the waters sublime,
began
their once upon a time.

"I cannot promise you a life of sunshine."

Or so their poem
began that day, but the
line unwritten
but for the groom's own mind,

as he looked upon his radiant bride
was that
all the light
that he ever needed
was already by his side.

And just as he
on that fateful day
promised to his young bride,

The ashen-browed man
held his glowing wife's hand
and his wife held his in kind.
