A happenstance in history

Thru my fears I shed some tears whilst I hope and pray that this moment in our time will all soon go away
Blowing like a bustery breeze through the atmosphere fizzling out this infectious monstrosity so that we are all clear
Coronavirus will be sent packing and gone away for good along with the panic buying and the shortages of food
This happenstance will go down in our history tho just how much longer we have to endure itβs pain is but a mystery
I put my faithful trust in our top scientists to come up with a plan
A vaccination to give us immunity for every fellowman
This day will arrive and it wonβt be before too long that every single one of us will celebrate in song
But in the meantime one and all will isolate until our salvation comes along and I can hardly wait

Hello Jill, it's been a while since I read one of your poems. Well done!Β
Favorite lines:Β
For some, this pandemic seems like an end, a prophecy perhaps but I don't think it is. I think, it's like all the other major epidemics. You are spot on with talking about a vaccine, they are well under way. My hope, we all come out of this as a world that is less violent. Since the television coverage about the pandemic has come out,Β Β all reports of mass killings or terrorist threats have stopped, but of course I'm sure it's still happening. We're just not hearing about it.Β
I think maybe we are all getting an abrupt wake up call.Β
I'm also learning that our nurses and police are hero's in every respect. My heart goes out to all the families affected.Β
Keep writing Jill.Β
Your poem made me think about the "big picture" and how small our world truly is.Β
