A harbor at night

A harbor at night

The tide creeps up like a thief in the night

moonlight on the sea shining ever so bright

A lonely foghorn calls waiting for a reply

warning ships in the mist that are nearby

waves crashing onto the rugged pilings

Tugging oh so fiercely at the frayed lines

a restless sailor  longs for the sea

waiting impatiently for his next long journey

The northern lights dance like ghosts in the night

all to enhance a mariners delight

Eve turns to morn as a new dawn breaks

a shimmering sun rises as a sleepy harbor awakes
