A Jar of Butterflies

A Jar of Butterflies

My heart is a jar of butterflies
Bumping into each other
With no space to fly
They desire to be free
But you can't always
Get what you want

My heart is a jar of butterflies
That won't stop fluttering
They seem so beautiful
But these butterflies are distressed
They want to get out
Of this airtight container

My heart is a jar of butterflies
That cannot breathe
I could open the jar
But all the butterflies will fly out
They need better air to breathe
I take off the lid

My heart was a jar of butterflies
Now they're finally free
