Poem -
A Lonely Wife
I would love to know how it feels to be free
How to be anybody but me
I try so hard to be the perfect wifeΒ
But what I get is pain and strife.
Sometimes I think I can cry and get compassion
But I Am a battered woman
That gets no reasonable reaction.
What have I done but clean, work, and love.
I've looked to astrology, counsellors, and most of all God up above.
All have failed in immediate reliefΒ
I'm left with taking pain medication that caused me more grief.
I don't know what else to do but leave.
