A LONG LONG TIME AGO

Make me laugh make me smile
Tell me stories I heard as a little child
Take me back to those good old days
When having fun was found
In simplest of ways
Like playing in the sand
With two sticks and a rock
Finding an empty cigarette box
And turning it into a truck
Watching leaves race down the stream
Having the time of your life
When mommy buys you ice cream
Playing cricket and soccer
In the blazing sun
Then out of the blue sky
The rain begins to fall
Feeling the sting of the rain
On your face
Yet holding your cricket bat
Close to your waist
Thoughts of an old man
Of days gone by
Reliving those playful days
Of when I was a child.
