A Melody is Heard

Spell for a Good Singing Voice

{This is based on a Coptic papyrus document called 'Spell for a Singing Voice', c. 6th or 7th century}

Mmmmi  Ommmm Mmmmmaaa

Musk, frankinsense, and Cassia
Surround me in a cloud

My toe stirs your wild waters
Hear me splashing

SALOME is my bossom friend,
She dresses me in garlands

SHE HIDES MY FACE
IN A VEIL IMPRESSED

Impressed by The Face of The Father

She crowns me in kisses
She steadies my hands

DAVITHEA RACHOCHI ADONIEL

She rubs me with perfume like Esther
She decks my lobes like Mariamun

Lakshmi too decorates my ankles
Adorns them with bells of gold

Ruach whispers the words of my Lover
She reads his letters signed in blood

My Justice-Maker has my heart
He is coming
He shall not tarry

The Radiance of Sheba's House
It still glows hot on my cheeks

A Baptism of FIRE

Saint Synesius paints rangoli mantras
on my arms with henna:

Shankar Huba Hubal
Samaria is won

Nazarite Kalantaka NataRaja
It is he, Faithful and True
He covers my multitude of sins

A  GA   PE

A dove pendant regulates my breath
My blood takes flight
Like Hannukah flames

White wine fills my chalice
White honey blesses my lips

I adjure by the singularity of the Holy Spirit -- YOU WILL ABANDON WHEREVER YOU ARE AND COME HERE IN THIS PLACE AND COMPLETE FOR ME THE WILL OF MY MIND AND THE SPELLS OF MY TONGUE IMMEDIATELY IMMEDIATELY!

Greetings all of Heaven's host
Greetings!

What's all this folly?
Now is not the season
Passover has been and gone

Let the lambs graze

Here, eat from my alabaster tablet
Eat my white grapes
May they be as pearls of wisdom

See, see the Higher Things?

I the Bride of a Name
A Name known to my Lover

I draw in the wind
I inhale all graces gifted by my Lord

The day he kissed me in his glory
The nail marks still in his palms

And a sweet pleasing sound arises here
I am filled with every sweet melody
All things in Christ are mine

Be caught now
Be caught in your own Net!

Irksome spawn of Colophon

Bite like the ghosts of Dagon
Yes I too cast a hook
A hook fashioned from your own Arachne legs

SHAK
SHAK

Where is my Accuser!
Little one of the apocalypses
Archangel Michael has you bound

Kali is in my grip
Yamot is under my feet

Silence!

Here, in the Courtroom of Our Council
By the Son's left hand, which rules the seven stars, with twelve stars crowning:

LET THE CAPTIVES GO!

Loose those bonds
Remove those unlawful constraints

The saints do not consent
It's time to put down your weapons

Peace is in The Prince of Peace

BAR BAR DAWIDA

ISH ISH ISH

SO FALL FALL
You fishy things
Drop your scales

Open your hands you theives!
Return our XI RHO
