A minds storm

A minds storm

Lying awake
Heart pounding
Nails digging into your sheets.
Thinking of all the things that happened.
Things that weren’t done.
Things that weren’t said.
Things that could have been handled better.
Crying, soaking your pillow, trying to catch your breath
wondering if it’s possible to drown in your own tears
Trying desperately to find the escape door out of your mind,
frightened by how merciless it can be.

Then suddenly  it’s over, and you feel nothing.
Completely exhausted, emotionless.
Moving on like nothings happened.
Like a tornado, destruction, then peace, but still ruins.
