A Mother’s delight ?

She stood in the shadows of his little room.. two weeks had passed by since he lay snug in her womb
But Mama still smelt exactly the same and she swore that her little one knew her name

So she sang with her soft sounding sweet lullabies as her new born baby fluttered his eyes..”Rock-a-bye-my baby over the tree tops”  til’ his whimpering had hushed and his little jaw drops
He looks so contented lay in his crib as he dribbles his dreaminess into his bib

“Night night my little one and do not stir” as his puckered lips blow raspberries at her.. And Mama smiles as she blows kisses into the air.. for her beautiful son lying slumbering there
She stands at the window in the pale moonlight with such a feeling of happiness and a Mother’s delight
