A Museum Happily Reopens

Dedicated to Anthony Hopkins

A Museum Happily Reopens

Prim and ever so proper,
Almost posh but very polite.
Tidy and so well presented,
Each visitor a welcome delight.

A museum having its trial run,
Simply test a few things out.
For a few friends and families,
Good people of that no doubt.

Now the waiting's finally over,
So ends these months of pain.
As adored green gates open,
Its staff on top of their game.

All dedicated and most devoted,
A genuine smile not a frown.
All happy in their museum,
For they'll never let it down.

So what does happen now,
Where do we go from here.
A few more test audience days,
For a museum all hold so dear.

Dedicated to Anthony Hopkins.

Tony your good name shares this actors and Wales beloved national treasure's first name.
So good Tony consider yourself an adopted and most honorary Welshman!!
And also for you, there will be more than a mere welcome in the hillsides or our beloved St Fagans museum for you sir.
And good to hear you've never missed a single Hopkins film and for that, he can buy you lunch when he visits.
And Tony you and your beautiful nuanced poetry and he with his beautiful nuanced performances are both treasured class acts.
Thank you so much Tony and as we say here in Wales,
Castiwch eich bara ar y dŵr a bydd yn dychwelyd gant o ddilynwyr.
Cast your bread upon the water and it will return one hundred fold.
Nos da for now but back tomorrow night to catch up on your latest poems and thank you so much my poetry brother.
You are a good man with a good heart.
The best.
Y gorau.

I doubt that anyone knows and or understands the feel, temperament and collective nuances of a museum like you do Shaun .. and for those insights alone, I applaud the fact you penned this fine dedication ..

I am also a big fan of the great Sir Anthony Hopkins too sir and have enjoyed many of his performances .. he seems to go down a treat with a nice chunk of liver, fava beans and a decent Chiante ..

Nev you are a wonderful writer and a superb friend to have here.
A real tonic and pick- me- up for all members for that matter.
Thank you for your more than kinds words you have offered up here, a real treat and blessing to read here.
And museum work is demanding some days not just for me but also for another 125 who work alongside me.
A truly great team that pulls together and like myself, count ourselves so fortunate to work here at St Fagans National Museum Of History.
And just for the record the recent Monday May Day Bank Holiday we had 10,732 visiting us.
Clearly it was that additional 32 that stressed us all out!!!
So Nev, if you're passing here please call in my brother it would be superb to meet and greet you.
And if Mr Hopkins is visiting the same day as you, he can pay for your car park fee and buy you lunch!
And don't hold back on that one.
For he can well afford it!
Thanks Nev and much appreciated for stopping by here :)
