Poem -

A new begining

I have often been that person who keeps their eyes straight ahead with no means of exploring the path I was traveling.
I have ignored nature's sweet, silent ways of saying "this is why life is worth living."
My mind has often explored the darkness that my demons lured me into.
My soul withered away before I could comprehend what was happening to me; my heart was no longer beating to live, but merely just to make it through another day.
Out of nowhere, within the silence that filled my mind, I heard the soft whisper of the wind begging me to go which ever direction it blew.
And with that I started over. Walking down my path, stopping to smell the roses for the first time.
