Poem -

A NEW DAY

They were heard through the valley
Cheering and singing
As they gathered outside
The new year to bring in

The fire pit glowed bright
From up on the hill
Where we watched from the garden
At the magic and thrill

As the strains of Auld Lang Syne
Floated up through the night
And the fireworks crackled
In colourful flight

The cider flowed freely
As we gathered as one
To bring in the new year
For the old one is done

And just for a moment
In the silence that followed
We heard the owl hoot
A fresh hope for tomorrow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ?
