A NEW DAY

Another day being part of Putin's awful war 
There is nothing left of my general store
Rubble and ruin where this shop once stood
My neighbours and friends covered in blood 

Tears and sadness were in my shelter last night 
Young telling the old we must stand and fight
Saw a child come up to me and say hey Mister 
Have you got any food for me and my sister 

So a new day starts the bright sun hits my eyes
The tanks on my street no longer a surprise 
Please help not only me but my country too 
We all want a normal life again just like you
