A New Hope

Heroes pass and take their leave, 
to loss of life or death of will.
But there among the devil's shadow,
glows bright the light of heroes still. 

And in its beams and desperate rays,
the goals and dreams of warriors hallowed
revive the fights of yesterday,
and till the fields of latent sorrows.

From whence the seeds of mended hearts,
spring from the well of old tears borrowed.
On fertile grounds of joy refound,
begins this day our hope's tomorrows.
