A Night of Ebullience

A Night of Ebullience

Candles flicker, silverware shines,

The elegant ballroom, empty, resides.

The pièce de résistance, prepared,

Entreats each man to indulge in his share,

While delightful chords from skilled strings

Invite each lady to dance with her king.

Nobility, with silk suits and gold cufflinks,

Puffed sleeves, ribbon, and lace in all pinks,

Trot piously through the decorated halls.

Once enclosed in solitude, with stoic walls,

The ballroom, now lively, welcomes gaiety.

With harmonious sways, the couples waltz gracefully.

One of the nobles, a man, grasps his maiden,

His gentle hand upon her waist, laden.

Deeply into his soft eyes she gazes,

And, his swift leading step, she traces.

As the end of the night draws near,

Every moment shared at the castle, was a moment filled with cheer.

The guests, content, wander back to their estates,

Through the newly vacant corridors, through the quiescent gates.
