A Note to Girls with Curves

Some incomplete person
Looked at her ample curves
Gave her that bold negative
Disapproving look
Made even louder
By the ugly crevices
Guttered in his forehead
His expression
Melted her esteem
Made her sadness scream
Made nightmares
Out of her pretty little dreams
You see
As a child
She didn't know
That society
Would judge her so
She would be measured
And weighed wherever she'd go
Slowly though
The reality began to grow
She had more curves
Than the magazine covers
Cared to show
They flaunted though
Some insecure sisters
Who hide under make up colors
Dance on long legs
And were bulimia lovers
She hid her pretty round face
Taught herself to erase
All plans to look beautiful
And spent her life
Away from being colorful
Wishing no attention
In her sad little direction
Believing in her heart
That she can never be
Someone's dream
Someone's sweetheart
And then one day
Be it quite by accident
The flash of a camera
Fell on her
Captured her smooth skin
With its natural honey glow
A beauty incomparable to show
And when she was told
That her pretty little face
Had beauty encased
And that her curves
Made smooth travelling
And that her fluff
Cushioned dreams
That could only be painted
On skin like hers
When they said to her
That she sipped more sweetness
From life's generosity
And that those who judged her
Spoke utter stupidity
That her size
Should never be perceived
As negativity
And when she was reminded
That God made her
As well as He
Fashioned anybody
She lit up
And sparked
Like fireflies
Surprizing dark
And butterflies
Embracing free
You see
This woman had never
Known how blessed
She'd be
And how much
Of her beauty
Had been supressed
Her radiance now glistens
And her smile beams
In confidence
Because she has learnt the lesson
A lesson of life
That beauty isn't a size
Or some specific color sequence
Beauty is subjective
And when the judgemental people look
Its usually out of jealousy
Or some sad character insecurity
You see
There is something beautiful
In everybody
And beauty
Was never restricted
To skinny little bodies
So she now walks around
Confidently
She now knows
That she too
Holds rights to be called beauty
And beautiful
She'll always be

My beautiful Jacklyn,
What a lovely heartfelt write. Brings tears of joy to my eyes, because, we all love "happy endings". So often, these insecure fiends spew their own inadequacies, trying to find an unsuspecting scapegoat to absorb them. So glad you rose above it all, and turned into the beautiful woman and poet that you are.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
