A PEACEFUL SKY

Interviewed by journalist on the news today 
I nearly cried with the words that she did say 
All she wants she said was a peaceful sky 
The war around her she like me wonders why 

She hides underground with no running water 
Tears are shed as she remembers her daughter 
A candle is the only thing that gives her light 
How does Mister Putin I wonder sleep at night 

Another thing this lady of the Ukraine said 
How she longs for the smell of fresh bread 
Her friends and family are either dying or dead
I'm grateful for food and thankful for a bed
