A Pledge

To my heart I have promised to be sincere.
To my soul I have vowed to be utterly loyal.
To devout beliefs I have pledged to adhere.
I will not abandon my stance despite a trial.

I know who I am and what I shall stand for.
Never will I discard what I judge as a right.
I realize all I want from life, and no more.
It is with pride I choose to follow the light.

None of us need fear where it is we tread.
None need take what they cannot accept !
None need waver before what they dread.
Let us learn to live as all righteous expect.
