~ A Poet's Passion ~
It is far into a poet's passion
Where purity and desire are kilned...
Through years, tears, torments and lacerations
Ripping through, to hidden wounds, and conflagrations
Where laying in the depths of puddled introspection
Swim languages and books of unwritten reflection
With piles of rejection, conjecture, and daring new directions
Where the ego goes to play, with a whisper's, deafening, silence
And shyness tortured, into arrogant attempts at greatness
For, it is indeed, within the nuances of a poet's passion
To push creativity to the brink of insanity's attraction
As songs come floating in, on rainbows of light's refraction
And words, become the only means of self-expression's voicing
Rejoicing, ever-so-subtly, in observations overflowing, and then forcing
The poet's pen to take truly, inspired, action
To take that which confronts him
And deliver it most mightily
Hand-in-hand
With,
One of the greatest
Gifts,
The Universe,
Has to offer.
That,
Of the Poet's,
Passion...

Wow!ย This is fabulous!ย It is true how poetry comes from deep within and is shaped by our life's experiences. Besides the thoughts and sentiments being expressed in a very eloquent way, I found this really interesting to read. I love the rhyming and flow. It flows so very well. I think that you make the reader slow and speed up exactly how you want them to. Very clever!ย Parts of it are very much a "beat" poem (I think that's what they are called).ย Having just read again I definitely definitely think this is a modern beat poem (kind of like a rap but much more sophisticated)...and an excellent example of one too. Excellent ????ย I am pinning this because I really admire how this has been written x

Great lines. I remember when I was younger, my mom would question me, or my sanity at times, for sitting and writing at my desk so much. She told me I should get out more or I'll go crazy or something lol. But, I just loved writing. Bless my mom, rest her soul. I know that when I finally get published (working on a few books right now) and add author to my resumรฉ, she'll be looking down with a big smile, along with my dad, who was also a poet.ย
