A flame of fire

Oh God, you are worthy of all praise,
        let glory and honour rise.
May we declare your wonders to all nations,
        speak without condemnation.
Stir your spirit within us to serve your holy name,
        let us shout your fame.
Put a flame of fire in our hearts for all to see,
        ignite it without a fee.
Take away pride and self-exaltation,
        we need sanctification and liberation.
Let us boast about your greatness,
        do it with all our kindness.
Anoint our heads with your oil of gladness,
        to do your work with fullness.
Let your gentle dove descend upon us,
        now we can labour without fuss.
Fill our mouths with prophesies,
        never misguided by dull philosophies.
Make us a powerful nation, miracle workers,
        to make your name higher and holier.
