A rainbow over new york

Sept 10
My husband came Home 
and cooked burgers on the BBQ.
I was exhausted our three kids had 
Been bears all day..
After 9 all of them tucked in bed
Then we had a gHass  of wine
And turned in for the night.
He wanted to make love
But I was too exhausted to try.

September 11 
It was such an ordinary day
a September morn from the gods.
My husband was off to work
The kids at school
Sipping my coffee the phone rang
It was my girlfriend from across the read 
put the tv on she commanded.
I saw the carnage of tower two fall
spreading a cloud of ash on my life  the weirdest thought filled my heart.
I wish I had made love to him last night.

Here we are again at ground zero
I mouth a prayer and say I love you honey
And he answered me back with a rainbow that curved to me from the city
And I know it was for me
