A Rare Innocence
Over time the mind sieves out the sludge and redeems golden moments
In spite of the darker mechanics of living inside the system
Memories of validation surface like kisses from coy breaking through slime
Gentle images that touch the heart like cyan patches in a charcoal sky
Distinct angelic visitations channeled through flesh and blood
Restorative trophies of having been loved in an unlovable wasteland of discarded things
