A Reminder That I'm Human
Like 6 Pin it 3Today I learned a lesson
A lesson that has to be experienced
Not taught
A lesson learned from living life
Such experiences can't be boughtToday I learned a lesson
Today I layed a reef
Today I learned to savour the taste of blood between my teethIt was the flavour of endurance
Not the flavour of defeat
It reminded me I was human
Currents of emotions flowed beneath my glassy surface
Life wasn’t frozen underneathA sinking feeling in my gut
Akin to a slow
Almost deliberate penetration of..
A rusty nail..
Through a footA pain so hot it burns
Melting the ice sheets of my eyes
A reminder that I'm human
A blessing in disguiseFor too long until now
No rain has fell
I almost miss the soundMy tears replenish the parched soil
Penetrating the parched groundA lifetime making money
But void of emotions all these years
That was until the thunderstorm..
The thunderstorm of tearsFeeling under the weather and it shows
I own plenty pots of gold
But zero rainbows

This is friggin' BRILLIANT SYD!!.....ya know, I sometimes get the feeling that you think you're not good at this 'Poetry Thing'!!..... or at least you convey that in commenting sometimes..... anyway, my point is..... that this is one of the most poetically creative, well crafted, and divinely formatted pieces I've EVER read on COSMO!!.... the rhythmical use of subtle repetition and stellar word choices beautifully timed in their placement throughout makes for absolutely delicious poetry.....I could read this over and over because it comes so trippingly off of the tongue...... it makes it a total pleasure to read aloud!!......a truly magnificent write...... with truly artistic intent!!......
