A Rose Stands Beside

A rose stands beside us today,
as it always does.
Its vibrant petals leading the way,
it guides us.

Its beauty a reflection of the best inside,
its redness the passion of which we share.
Its softness the compassion for which we strive,
its thorns a longing reminder...

Love is for the brave as well as the blind.
For with this rose by our side,
each other we did find.
Just as we will always find her.

The one that dares us to laugh,
and begs us to smile.
And joins our hands,
down the rose-laden aisle.

She is with us always.
