A Script Rewritten

And oh,
But there was once a sacred
silvered pool
I would seek it out and visit
Its silent ripples as calm as
still air
I would step in, and always, at
once
Be at peace there

My whole being as calm as
the ripples around
The silver, an innerness,
newborn, newfound

How it would empty in grace!
And, carry me off
Silver moths to the sun
And everything...one...then
Return and refill
The silvered ripples, so still

Now... how it pains me
To know it is drained
The silver ones struggling
Near death and in pain
