A Sinister Challenge

And the whole wide world was in waiting as people tried their very best 
They had been sent a sinister challenge and they had to pass a test
These were challenges like none other before, choices between health and wealth and which to value more

Humanity was scared as they hid themselves away and all the little children lost their friendship play
Schools and shops unless they sold necessities and food were closed indefinately it was not good
Each and every one kept themselves isolated missing normality and feeling so frustrated

But the world outside was full of new creation as Mother nature carried on with her beauteous sensation
An entire new way of life was led far and wide as the old and vulnerable were locked inside
Away from an infectious disease that spread like wildfire and brought the world’s economy to it’s knees

So Governments across the nations took total control to save civilisations
They drew out new plans with limits and rules as people worked from home and homes became schools
But leisure and pleasure was put on hold and people could only exercise when permitted and told
New hospitals were hurried  for the NHS who risked their own lives with infections and stress

Key workers from all kinds of commodities rallied together to provide necessities
2020 indeed came in like a lion with an invisible virus where humanity was dying
But just like the incredible NHS Scientists worked day and night to develope a vaccine that would rid this blight
