Poem -

A SOUL IN A BED

Drink it in say's the head
For the soul is ever thirsty
And not yet, quite yet, dead

Here, the dogs laid down
On padded floor
Large snouts relaxed in
Sigh and snore

Tails curled around proud, to

guard a door
Whilst running sweet sweet
circles
Deep in dreams

The cats all purr
To burrow close, stretch
Languidly
Warm, warm as toast
On a meadow scented
Softly quilted host

And I....

I take the heads advice
Store it deep, not once but
twice
As the dark wakes up to hear a
rain
Drum lullabyes
On a window pane

And I...

I take a moment,  breathe
In the soft lamplight of a cosy
eve
Book face down by a pillowed
head
Give thanks for the now, in a
Blessed bed

For the head is right
This, a perfect night
At peace with a world that
feels just right
A weary soul not yet quite
dead
A soul so awake, so alive, in a
bed

Being Me

Another one pinned!

Love the scene you so masterfully describe. It's one of absolute completness. A moment like this is a moment to treasure. I love it when a storm rages outside, battering its way through the night but indoors, safely snuggled beneath the duvet, I am at peace knowing everyone is safe at home and the dog and cat are blissfully unaware lost in their own dreams. It is truly one of those moments that make you feel thankful and totally at peace. You have captured this feeling perfectly, Marion. I am such a fan of your work x

A Lonely Journey

Marionette,
I'm not sure how you write so beautifully, and intelligently, and wonderfully, but I love your writing! I know you're intelligent(and I scored a 7000 on my SAT's(actually, I scored a 7, but I like to add zeros to things)), and I try to write like that, but cannot do it(with the opaque style, and brilliant insight), and it irks me because I want to write guud. lol.
But seriously, you're one of the best writers I've ever seen, and I haven't even seen you! But you're amazing.
Please keep writing always, it's fantastic.
Hugs,
Matthew.

This is simply brilliant Marion!
When I read this I felt as if I was there experiencing those sounds and feelings. It made me feel so comfy like I was drinking hot chocolate on a rainy winter's day, looking at the weather through the window while all snug and warm with a sweater on.
