~ A Symphony Of Satanic Seasons ~
Upon the bloodied wind, where lust doth lie
In every winter's lullaby
Where Cain doth take his brother's breath
Leaving it twisting
In a springtime death
Where hellish winds do fly
Across the dull and darkened horizon
Like a symphony of satanic seasons
While Lucifer's armies dare to reason
Beyond the common folks dusty treasons
Leaving a summertime of lovers weeping
As clever angels invade their dreaming
Like a cobbler's pain, the hard work of precision
Is hammered into a devilish vision
And finds bleeding fingers waiting there
With a blackened smile, a bloodied knife
And the kiss of death's culled collisions
Where every autumn's lullaby
Is born within
These terribly beguiling
And most brutal
Warring seasons,
Dripping,
With broken promises
And wagging whispers
From
Mephistopheles
And his legions,
Of fallen,
Angelic,
And most greedy,
Deadly demons.....

really like this thinker! the use of seasons as a metaphor accentuates the limited time the adversary has left! He creates contention and distraction to sway the best of us to make poor choices! The grace period we have now to try and improve and avoid all these fallen angels and spiritual"deadly demons" is crucial for our progression! thank you Tony for your always illuminating writes! this one really starts one pondering!..................................Jim
Wow!! JIM!!....what a powerful commentary....and obviously something you feel strongly about......for surely this poem lends itself to your interpretation....and you, dear poet brother, have expressed yourself Beautifully here!!......thanx tons for this......Always a pleasure to hear from you.....Lots of Love to you and yours....T xo : )
I notice in your notes it says first edit. I think it should also be your last edit. I don't think there is anything here you can do to make it better. There is always, always something we can find to twiddle and change but there comes a time when we have to stop. I personally think this poem does not need anymore editing — it is polished, it works and it reads well. That is just my opinion of course. Fabulous poem x
Thanx tons TINA!!....and I agree with you for the most part.....I have a regimen wherein I write a poem....come back to it 6 months (or so) later.....and inevitably find a LOT to improve upon......Rarely is there nothing to improve.....it happens mind you....just not very often.....a second edit (which is what I think you're referring to) is most often unnecessary......I live by the old school standard that "Writing, IS, rewriting".....just a credo I have chosen to adopt.....anyway, I DO sometimes write one that just comes out perfectly unchangeable.....and I LOVE it when that happens!! Big Smiles!!.......thanx again dear poet sister.....Lots Of Love to you and yours!!......T xo : )
Wow what a poem

A masterpiece
from a master poet
I also think you don’t have

Thank you kindly GREG!!......I shall bear that in mind my friend!!......stay groovy brother......fist bump!!......T xo : )
Yikes Tony, season of hell I feel here, the culmination of all the deadly, testing times and temptations. Epic in its dark intimidating presence. Which is perfect for the subject and intent here. Dragging the reader through the layers of hell itself it feels. As ever you open the mind of your reader wide...always such a pleasure to read your work my wonderful talented poetic friend

WOW!! Thanx GWEN!!....and although this isn't inspired by Rimbaud I can see how one might think so.....but the rest of your insightful remarks are deadly accurate, as per usual!! (smiles).......the road to understanding is often paved with the spawn from hell (more smiles).....but yes, you are correct in that I did intentionally drag the reader through layers.....you are amazing my friend.......thanx so much for taking time with this one!!.....I am your cyber-friend and ever-admirer.......T xo : )
