Poem -

A Tree In My Garden

I feel hollow inside
Like nothing can fill me
I’m reaching out to you now
Because one time, you healed me

A lone tree in the garden
Of my insecurities
Surrounded by the life
Of things that killed me

Lurking for love
With roots running deep
All I find is disappointment
Disappointment in me

When will I be enough
Asks the young/old willow tree
Limbs wagging in the wind
“Whatever will be will be”

Close the garden gates
And leave me in peace
With my vices and vacancy
I wish you wouldn’t leave

Should I stay or should I go now?
That was my thought after reading the final stanza of your poem.
Sometimes we say one thing but mean another.
Nice writing, Chel.
