Poem -

a vast blue sky

I have built it down...my world...
To a window box and I
Tis as big a world as I need and
it does not make me cry
And alone we grow
This box and me
This small green world and I
Both contained and lessened
Under a vast blue sky

Small is beautiful perhaps, I get the image of a figure content in the landscape and their self contained world of their own mind's eye desire and design.
And content is the key word Marion.
Hugs.

Hi Shaun, thankyou. I'm glad you found positivity in this write and I am.not in the least surprised as you seem to be such a joyous and optimistic person my lovely friend. Me...I wrote it with the mind set of isolation and shutting the world out... which is what I mostly do these days...hugs xx

Marion I couldn't work it out to be honest and the bubble of a self contained world was the best I could come up with.
And after the day I have had!!!... any room to share in that bubble of yours.
We all need to escape and clear our minds once in a while and use what ever gets you through the night or day for that matter.
Chill Marion and hugs to you.

As readers we find whatever meaning we want and that is the beauty of poetry Shaun ...I think your interpretation is far more beautiful than the mindset I wrote it from. So sorry you've had a rough day. I sent you a message about a poem on here...take a look when you have 5 and let me know what you think ok. Have a good night's sleep xx

Marion, some poems can deliver different meanings to different readers and develop from there and just a heads up and I found said poem The Cormorant by Mark Olcott and left a comment on his brilliantly written and beautiful conceived poem.
And was is not Keats who said,
'A thing of beauty is a joy forever'
Which is clearly evident in Mark's writing for everyone to see.
Thanks for the recommendation and hugs to you my friend.
