A Very Grand Finale

A Very Grand Finale

I dreamt, I was a poet

playing the piano

and as I was playing

I was also reciting my

most famous poem

the notes were dramatic

no one could deny

later, that night...

I died with a smile.

🤔. I feel like this could be a need for recognition? I identify as a writer, although not a very good one, and absolutely a too typically obscure poet, I feel the need for recognition, more as I get older. PS how's The games, see any? How far away from Paris are you? I can think of worse places to visit. I see it all really: but a bundle of notebooks, the first page a title: The Paris poems!

Sweet Rory, I haven't been following the Olympics this year, I'm around two hours from Paris. Yes this is about self fulfilment what ever it may be, I feel I have fulfilled most of my dreams and I am still young enough to have many more, thank you Mr Rory. Ps, people don't necessarily understand poems, if they themselves don't write, but if we are true poets we keep writing regardless. 💙

I'm just careful of the ego showing up in dreams also

I've met ego and you are not that. I believe you to be honest and respectful🌹

Fulfillment sounds like attachment, the shadow of greed that is. We aren't owed anything

Sure you are right, but I'm speaking of playing the piano and reading out loudly poetry written from the heart. I have no material interests in my life, I live a simple happy lifestyle in the country, I walk everywhere too. I find fulfillment in changing my life from my heritage in London and setting up life here in Tuscany. 🌹

Sounds like the best self imposed exile I've ever heard for a poet.
