A Winter Night
Watching the moon rise in the clear starry sky,
Whispers of the daylight say goodbye,
The gentle moonlight glints off the soft fluffy snow,
And in the sky the last purples and blues glow.
Starlight brightens the frozen night,
Gently glinting off the ice in muted light,
The mist of cold breath hangs in the air,
Snowflakes start flying down, so light and fair.
Icy snow crunches beneath my cold feet,
The delicate snowflakes fall in a tight, white fleet,
The moon, still shining full and bright,
Guides my footsteps on this cold, pretty night.
I see my little house, my cabin white with snow,
Alight with a cozy fire, giving off a sweet orange glow,
One last look at this frozen beauty of a night,
Before I step inside, where it's cozy warm and light.
Warming up by the dancing bright fire,
Watching the snow rising higher and higher,
Moonlight still shines through the flurry of snow,
The cool icy light contrasting the fires warm glow.
