Poem -

a yellowish edge

The wicker box is full of it
Minutiae and trivia
An odd moth or two
And when you pull it down off the
wardrobe you have to be careful
Something will invariably fall out
And floor you

Then

When you have it down safely
Ensconced on the speckled rug
The moths retired
To wait patiently on the dusty
heights
Be careful

Because

The sight of that card curled
with yellowish edge
Which enfold's ancient words
Of a he long since dead

Will floor you

Being Me

Oh those old wicker hamper type boxes! I have one too. Mine is full of art stuff though. I do have plastic boxes of stuff the kids have done throughout their school days. I could never make myself part sith them. Every summer holiday came all their books and I kept them. Art work,  photos  birthday cards ( to them and me)  mothers day cards — all kept.

Sometimes, something of my mother's crops up ... quite unexpectedly ... and I know she is still with me ( wish it was still in person).

Hugs xx

Oh you old softie, I did same...even the newborn baby bracelets lol....not really sure what I expected my kids to do with them when they grew lol.
Needless to say they did not go down well as gifts on their 18ths.. they thought they were newfangled keys to cars which most certainly were not on the front lol...😆😆😆😆
I think maybe I've always seen life's precious moments as something that can be pickled and preserved which was silly of me as even preserves eventually go out of date Tina. Nice to know I'm not the only one Lol...thanks love xx

Being Me

Hahaha....lol....They found their locks of baby hair and their baby teeth ( one or two not the whole set) in envelopes when I moved. They were horrified! The said I was weird. I have my dogs puppy teeth too.  (Please tell me that this is a "thing.")

Being Me

🤣🤣🤣🤣  LOL!     I am now waiting to see whether my son saves his daughters' work ( eventually ... eldest has only just turned two) and hair and teeth. OMG...that actually does sound pretty out there weird, seeing it written down  — hair and teeth! 🙊🙉🙈

Well, I think it is nice that we keep such sentimental things. My mum kept my old school books and she gave them to me when I moved out. I swear she kept a tooth or two aswell! Though I may have dreamt that.

What things we mothers do!!
