ABILITY

When I first saw you...
You thought I was pitying you...
Passing the understanding...
You knew it wasn't pity at all...
There was so much more of you that I wanted to know...
Questions about you...
You have been answering too much I was certain...
The moment I became silent...
I was absorbing as much of you as I could...
The look in your eye as you spoke...
Asked where I had gone...
Did I hear a word you said?
That's when I knew...
One of the things I could do...
You have the ability to feel me?
Can you help feel a touch?
I am a paraplegic...
You smiled when I smiled...
Can you feel your lips?
Yes...
My nose too...
But, I can't scratch the itch...
Hugs...

Hello Sis Cherie....
I wanted to understand as much as I could about living life day to day in that situation...
What would it be like to not be able to do something like sooth an itch?
I was trying to understand the reasons of why living meant more than dying?
Some lives changed from full mobility to having to be watched, carried, and cared for all the time on their journey...
Seeing them smile and trying to understand why are they happier than people who can feel, walk, run, feed themselves, bathe themselves etc...
People who are born with challenges and their smile lights up when they see you and all you do is just be a friend...
Not everyone can communicate...
How would anyone know if they're in pain or something?
To be a voice for someone?
You have to know...
Thank you for your comment...
Hugs...
