my days are love’s feral gyspy sunstroke
all fife and drum most butterfly 
in the mirkwood of my almost happy
now a chamber of stars, too whimsical
for my average disaster.

like an avalanche is a flower falling asleep
in a terrarium of joy, capsized by the awe of things
while singing poison into pearls
more rapturous than feeding ducks
to a swan.
