Abstract Silence

Abstract Silence

It’d been two months since I saw you last.
Memories too tough to have.
So I laughed, and I cried and I paced around the place all night.

My dear, I nearly died.

Tossed and turned and longed for you.
Still, wishing that you’d fall
Nothing new, Love.. nothing new at all

..

And then you called.

..

And we talked as if you loved me when I left.

Every second filled with nothing.

We dared not say “I miss you”
So the silence fell.

And the loss was heavy, heavy felt.

So this is Love for all I’ve known of it.

Weighty, and unhinged.

There were no words we could have said..

So there were no words.

-

“Goodbye” was all I heard.

Goodbye.
