Acid Reign

Acid Reign

Summer's humid
Sunkissed warm glow
Crystal clear
Bright blue skies
Sunlight leaking
Like a child peaking
Through fingers
Crossed in front of eyes...

Decades of slow decay
Sodden soil
Rotting leaf litter
Saturated skin
Segmented insects
Yellow clay...

Ideas fall like rain
Cascading down
The window pane
Trying to catch them
On a serpentine tongue
A one sided battle
Cannot be won

Glad I clicked on this one, what magic you bring Syd. I know mental blanks can be hard! so I wish you all the inspiration you could imagine! I know that's a contradictory statement, but you get what I mean XD

Gwendoline

Hello Syd,
I remember peeking through my fingers at the sunlight. I get from this piece a sense of rushing time. Something out of our hands and yet we try so hard to grasp at life. To make it feel fulfilled. And yet we watch it slip through our fingers so swiftly. I loved this read. It also had a good fluid motion about it. Which gives the reader that sense of movement, like with passing time.

Really good write

Hi Gwen,

You're really good at leaving constructive positive feedback. Something I'm not so good at myself...I seem to lack the vocabulary. But anyway...I'm really glad you enjoyed this one. I really tried to paint a picture with my words and as you will probably know.. that is easier said than done.

Thanks again - Syd
