Act of Thanks

Act of Thanks

Bringing her sweet smelling perfume,
Mary kneeling at Jesus' feet,
She poured all the oil she had,
Which her hair then wiped clean.

Her tears of thanks were seen by all,
How grateful she was to Him,
For He had raised her brother from the dead,
An act recorded in the Word as it says.

The appreciation in her heart was great,
More than she could ever explain,
So by bowing at His feet in honor,
She gave every drop as though to God the Father.

I wish I could have been the one to kneel,
At the table where Jesus was eating,
To cry with my eyes full of thankfulness,
Showing the world my love as a fragrance.
