Poem -

Addiction hurts

Really thought you were the one for me
Knew it was too good to be

At the beginning you were sweet and kind
Couldn't get you off my mind

But your addiction is strong
Can't see that you are wrong

Losing you to alcohol
Watching you stumble and fall

I tried to help you
Didn't want a thank you

Gave you a choice family or drink?
Didn't realise how low you'd sink

Anyway I will be there to the end
Hope you get through this, love you my friend
Xx

Hi Stacey, I lost my mother to alcohol. This poem I can relate to. I hope the person you're writing of manages to overcome their addiction.

Take care - Syd
