Poem -

After

After all the laughter,

after they all go home

things go back to normal

and you know you're all alone

At length you ask your self

how long will this memory last

'cause when you're by yourself

your thoughts are deep in the past

You know how the poet dreams

you know how the lover's kiss

I think of the love tonight

I know I will truly miss

If could do it all again

I'd try to make it right

I would hold your body

real close all through the night

Unless this memory's shaken

perhaps by another one

tomorrow these saddened eyes

may never meet the sun
