Poem -

After Autumn, Winter

The pants are falling off the emperor
I am intrigued--even disappointed--that you of all people are offended by this
It's no surprise and it isn't the first time mantel has been taken off one set of shoulders and placed on another
It's common knowledge that civilisations rise and fall
It is written: my yahwh said to his Yahwh
All these lords and ladies living as if they're accountable to no one
The buck stops at the lake of Truth to have a gulp
And then we're off to greener pastures
I thought you knew
You can sit here and sulk all you like
But that isn't going to change things
And if you stay in your tantrum too long
You might get left behind
