Afterlife

I feel a cold sensation trickling down my neck,Â
I reach out to only be dragged to the deck.
My ears are awash with blood and the sound of fire,
My situation is quite dire.Â
I close my eyes and hope for the best,
I know not that I'll pass this final test.
The world becomes black and cold, this is something no-one could've foretold.
I call out for help I look for a friendly face
I guess there's no-one here, not a trace.
A figure in shrouded in darkness walks on by,
A lifeless soul all emotions sucked bone-dry.
“Where am I ? what is this place ?”
“Why, is this a final resting place?”
It returns a icy glare and a malicious grin,
I don’t want to die by such thing.
A pair of hands pull me up by my shoulders,Â
A shock not only for that of the beholder.
The cold has withered,
It felt as if I was amidst a blizzard.
I reach out for a friend,Â
He holds my had as if to say this is not your end.
I know this is what he implies
And so, I open my eyes.
